This is my first real fashion post in ages! I've never really done a full post on fashion that caters to plus sized ladies or as TV stylist Gok Wan would say, Curvaceous Beauties!!

I've noticed more shops provide bigger sizes especially since the revolt against size zero models on the runway in 2006 but i still think that there aren't many shopping options for the fashionable plus-sized gal. Some of the clothes are actually unflattering and not very feminine and its like some idiot just decided that fuller-figured women shouldn't be able to participate in fashion trends. As someone who has issues buying clothes because i'm quite tall, i feel i should put in my two cents.

I'm not an expert but i've done some research......

Famous Beauties With Curves

Jackets

A Low cut, single breasted jacket works best if you have a big bust

A jacket that fastens underneath the bust is preferably because one that buttons over the bust might appear too tight and could lead to the peek-a-boo effect (we dont't want that, lol!)

Go for styles that are slightly longer than the hip to elongate the body. Unless it's a cropped jacket, anything that hits right on the hip tends to draw attention if you are wider at the hips.

A narrower lapel makes you appear slimmer up top.

Tops

Stick with tops that have deep V-necks, sweetheart and scoop necklines (layer tops underneath very low necklines)

Wrap tops are good
Avoid high necks like the plague!

General Tip! If you are higher than a C-Cup try not to wear heavily padded bras especially with Shirts. A lady at T.M lewin told me this when i kept complaining about my buttons. I now wear non-padded bras with my shirts and I even went a shirt size smaller....lifesaver!)

Jeans/Trousers

Go for straight cut or boot cut styles
Dark, clean washes

Avoid tapered skinny jeans or anything too small or tight that creates a "sausage" effect

*If you must wear skinny jeans, make sure you wear a long-lined top that covers the widest part of your thighs. Also, remember to go for a darker wash.

Avoid cropped or boyfriend styles which will tend to make you look short and wide

My thoughts on 'The Thriller'

No need to say it. I know! It's work stress and total lack of inspiration. lol! Hope everyone in blogsville is doing great.

I guess you would have to live on Mars if you haven't gotten your fair dose of the Michael Jackson saga (I suspect that if life existed on Mars, they would know too!). His death came as quite a shock to me. The shock lasted for two days and then the crying started...it's weird how one is capable of grieving for a person they have never met before. I wish he could have seen all this outpouring of love while he was still alive...he probably thought nobody cared anymore. All the ridicule and accusations - if we are to believe the drug addiction stories - finally took its toll on the man. There is only so much one person can take.

I remember when I saw my first MJ video, Mesmerising is an understatement. The dance moves, his voice, the costumes, the unforgettable, powerful and inspiring lyrics...shall i go on? This man was just talented beyond this world. He didn't just sit on his money either, he was extremely charitable. He is a legend (It seems like that status carries some kind of curse with it)

Nobody knows for sure whether those allegations brought against him were true but I really pray that the press and critics just leave him and his family alone now.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson.

Update on my relocation/The Carters/Beyonce's Boho Style

Had a crazy day today. Local government workers are just so nonchalant. Why does it have to take almost 5 hours to achieve something that can be done in 45minutes. Damn!

If I didn't already mention it, I'm doing my NYSC in Lagos, Nigeria and today was community development day (once a week for a whole year) which is why I was at the local government. Apart from the stress of having to deal with the local government and nysc officials, it's been going well. My job gets more demanding everyday but I'm in banking so it's expected. Also, I'm meeting new people everyday - the nice and the not-so-nice. Feeling less like a foreigner in my own country as time goes by.

OK. Enough about me.

Jay Z and Beyonce out shopping in New York city. Don't they just look so cute and together?

Seems like B is doing her own version of boho chic. Verdict is still out on the NYC outfit for me. She looks nice but there's too much going on. I think I love all the pieces individually in that first photo especially the dress and necklace.

While out in Vienna, she rocks a skimpy tank, J. Brand jeans, YSL cage boots, a Valentino bag and a fedora hat. I like the relaxed and casual feel of the outfit - it looks like something Zoe Kravitz might wear. I hate those shoes! The heel makes it look even worse.

Maxwell Debuts New Video

Well it's about time!!! God knows I've been waiting an eternity for this. Singer Maxwell released the video for his new song “Pretty Wings” on Tuesday. The first album off the highly anticipate trilogy "Black Summer's Night will be released on July 7th after an EIGHT year hiatus.

I love the song. It's still Maxwell...a little more grown and sexy (still miss the hair sometimes :-). His voice is still aMazing - like butter melting on warm toast. I'm off to have a listening party with Maxwell's old joints.

Colour Clashing

Confessions of a shopaholic....a masterclass in colour clashing.

Ok it's not really a brand new trend but yes! Clashing is good this spring/summer...there's a right and wrong way to clash colours of course. Boring matchy matchy has gone out the door folks. Try new combinations and variations of hues - think outside the box. Green/pink, Purple/Blue, Red/Yellow, Brown/Pink, Blue/Red, Orange/Peach ... just get the hues right. What I liked the most about the wardrobe from 'Confessions of a shopaholic' was the presence of colour. Not just the wonderful bright colours, but the way they were put together to create fun and sometimes quirky outfits.

I've created a few examples with fresh ways to pair colours and more traditional colours that go well together but are not matchy matchy.

Tip: Be careful with the temperature of your outfit. Hot pink with Neon green is never a good idea, Ugly Betty is only adorable on TV. I find that pastels are a lot easier to play around with especially if you are not used to colour coordinating.

I decided against commenting on this incident until the REAL facts in the case became available. This is a CNN report which includes details from the affidavit filed by the Los Angeles police department.

Chris' attack is even more violent than i originally imagined, he tried to push her out of a moving car and had her head in an arm-lock!! I wish her family might have been able to make her get some counseling because getting back together with Chris is clearly not a good idea.

I've been shopping around for a new scent and as fun as that sounds, it's so hard to choose from the millions of brands on the market. I've narrowed it down to these four:

Sarah Jessica Parker has created a signature look and fragrance that is ultra-feminine and timeless. tastefully hip. This, in my opinion is the best perfume ever created by a celebrity (I'm not a big fan of celeb fragrances). The perfume has been described as one which blends a scent of pure innocence with the exotic nature of a precious oil and the sophistication of a fine perfume. That is no lie. This one is a must-have if you love all things feminine, elegant and classic. I'm sad because I've got about 2 sprays left till it's finished.

Chemistry: Top notes sparkle with Fresh Mandarin, Bergamot and Radiant Rosewood rushing into Lush Lavender and Crisp Apple Martini. Middle Notes Blossom with Exotic Patchouli, the perfume of paper whites and creamy orchid. Bottom Notes Seduce and Linger with Sensuous Cedar, White Maber, Sultry Musk and Woods.

I reckon 'Elle' is the perfect name for this fragrance as it conjures up the right images of what it really is. I adore the design of the bottle - very chic. An audacious and feminine fragrance for a cosmopolitan girl - vibrantly feminine and ultra contemporary. It fuses woody and floral notes to create a perfume for a woman with no reservations.

Chemistry: A blend of Peony, Pink Berries and Patchouli

Euphoria By Calvin Klein was launched as a Fun, Enticing (I hate that word, lol!) Scent for Women. I love it for not being too over-powering and it's a really great fragrance in a humid environment. I think this is going to be my present to myself on my birthday. Apparently, the bottle design was inspired by an orchid about to bloom.

Chemistry: The Beautiful Fragrance has top notes of Pomegranate, Persimmon, and a Lovely Lush Green Accord. The Heart then blends into a sensual Lotus Blossom and black Orchid. Bottom notes are Amber, Violet, Cream And Woods.

'Simple yet sensual, comforting yet captivating'. This one is a strong and bold woman's perfume. I imagine a powerful and sophisticated business mogul. She has a mysterious and seductive nature. I'm not too familiar with Armani's fragrances and I hear their women's perfumes are not as popular as the males (this one was created from the male version) but this is a good attempt.

Chemistry: Orange flower note with fresh ginger accents and the caress of honey-sandalwood accord.

Hello fashionistas. For my post today, I thought it might be helpful to give some advice on which shoes go with each style of jean - I myself used to find it tricky.

SKINNY JEANS

It seems most of us are not quite ready to give up on the skinny jean yet. It's the go-to item of clothing for those 'I have nothing to wear' situations. You can never go wrong with Skinny jeans and a cute top. The best shoes to wear with skinny jeans are ballet flats or thin-heeled/stiletto pumps.

BOOT-CUT JEANS

Personally, I find boot-cut jeans the hardest to wear. They are best suited to cowboy boots or knee-high boots which is fine if you are in live where the sun don't shine (lol!). The wider leg will allow the shaft of the jeans to hang comfortably over the boots. However, these jeans are not very good for those who prefer tucking jeans into boots (skinnies are perfect for that) because the excess material will keep spilling over the boots.

My advise for fashionistas in warmer climates would be to try strappy sandals.

WIDE-LEGGED or FLARED JEANS

These jeans are a throwback to the 70s and always make a reappearance. So if you are skeptical about making the investment, don't worry! The appropriate shoes for this type of jean are platform heels or wedges. I know some people suggest cute flats but it can be a little tricky to pull off and usually results in a frumpy look.

When choosing this style of jean, you should make sure that they are not too long or short - go for something that falls an inch to the ground. Also, I find that the slightly high waisted versions are more flattering. Keep the top either fitted or short and slightly loose paired with a platform peep-toe for some va va voom or wedges paired with big sunglasses and stacked bangles to keep the overall look funky.

Spring is almost here and with that comes the early predictions of what's going to be hot in Spring/Summer fashion. The sheer trend was around in 2008 but it is really hotting up for 09 - lots of celebrities wearing it.

Designers featured sheer fabrics in a multitude of ways to create ultra sexy and feminine outfits without the wearer having to sacrifice all their dignity. The Spring/Summer 09 runway collections feature lots of cool and sexy sheer pieces, layers, and delicate, feminine draping. Soft and feminine or hardcore sex-kitten? Whatever your taste, there's bound to be a piece you'll love.

Individuality in 2009!

Happy new year!! It was on this day in 2008 that I had this crazy idea to start a blog - so i guess its also happy 1st anniversary. 2008 was definitely interesting - both good and bad. It's been great communicating with other bloggers and the readership of this blog is something I'm really grateful for so THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

I've come full circle - this time last year, I was in England graduating and ready to begin an exciting career. Now, I have moved back home to Lagos, Nigeria to start what I hope will be a fantastic experience. Having been in the UK for the last 8 years, the decision to leave was a very hard one but a wise person told me "It's better to move forward however challenging than remain comfortable in a stagnant position". I must admit that I am still skeptical about if it was the right thing to do.

Lagos takes some getting used to - there is a huge difference between coming home for holidays and staying permanently! NEPA (constant power cuts), corruption, traffic jams, armed robbery, Nigerian attitude towards business and work (customer service - non existent), no formal retail sector (damn!) and the general feeling that someone is always waiting to stab you in the back to get ahead.

Suddenly, no matter how hard you try, you have to become a 'type A personality' because having any other personality will surely ensure that you always finish last. Nice means push-over here! It's a trait that should only be shown to close family and friends.

I've only been back for 4weeks so I'll keep you posted on how I'm surviving :-)

As for resolutions, I won't bother this year because I achieved none of the ones i set last year...except for being more fabulous! I Think I am nearly in the mindset of being comfortable with individuality when it comes fashion. People might not always get your fashion sensibilities but then again people don't always get people (you can't like everybody) and since fashion is usually an expression of who you are, people don't have to understand or like your interpretation. So it's okay.

I now appreciate the importance of detail. I love small flashes of colour with dark pieces, a quirky cuff that contrasts something sombre. It's the way a jacket or simple dress is belted or pinned with a brooch or how the choice of hairstyle can take a look from soft and feminine to cool and edgy.

Trends are great but I really want to encourage everyone to celebrate individuality - it's really up to you, don't be afraid and remember - it's all about attitude!!

Party Season - Rejuvenate with a Brooch

With the arrival of the party season, most of us are already worrying about what to wear. There will be a lot of people who simply can't afford to fork out for new clothes and accessories for every invite we get.

My advice - Invest in a brooch. It's just the thing to spruce up clothes long designated to the back of your wardrobe. Here are a few ideas I've come up with.....

A casual oversized drapey tunic like this could easily work as a mini dress or top w/skinny jeans by gathering the excess fabric to the centre of your waist or the side of your hip and securing it in place with a brooch.

My favourite way to re-invent a plain old clutch is with an antique looking brooch. Why spend tones on a new clutch when you could get a £5 clutch from primark and pin your mum's vintage brooch to it! Although, it would be nice to own a lovely Wilbur and Gussie satin clutch - they are the best!

The grand opening of Atlantis The Palm, Dubai took place on the 20th of November. Wow! And we all thought the city of Atlantis was lost forever. lol! Well Dubai went ahead and made a magnificent island of their own.
The resort Boasts 1539 rooms starting from $454 per night, water adventure which include underwater exhibits, a maze of underground tunnels offering underwater views into the boulevards of the ruins of Atlantis and dolphin Bay. It also hosts award winning cuisine - 17 restaurants, bars and lounges. The Avenues, a sophisticated retail promenade also home to a nightclub and over two dozen shops featuring top names in fashion, design and local artistry.

There were a host of celebs on hand to party it up at the Grand Opening - kylie Minogue performed at the star studded event.

It's been months since the Plaid/Check/tartan/Heritage (so many names!!) trend's debut but I have only just began to embrace this trend. I guess I've always had a fear of it because I associate it with table cloths and kilts.

Recently though, I've noticed the various fabulous interpretations in stores and on celebs - fresh colours, dresses, tights, jackets. You could go posh, punk, tomboy...it's pretty versatile!

I just came across this picture while doing my rounds online and just had to share. I love Zoe Kravitz style but I've never got round to posting about her.

I love the way she accessorised this Matthew Williamson pink dress...it's just the shade of pink i can cope with. I think the sparkly multi-color jacket compliments the dress quite nicely the orange clutch adds the right contrast and the shoes are nice too.
With daddy and mummy's rock and style credentials, how could she not be so uber-cool!

Another week full of busy (yea right!) celebs out and about town. It's our right to judge them...well their outfits anyway.

Nicole Richie in a floral gown by Dsquared and a shrunken leather jacket. I have mixed feelings about this one. One minute I love it, the next I don't.

This is an outfit that on first glance looks like it doesn't work but I find myself really liking it. Love the lilac shoes with the light blue flower sheath - I'd loose the weird belt!

The best thing about this outfit is the colour combination. I don't think I have ever thought about pairing red with metallics.

It's nice, she looks nice. Mmm it's just a little meh. Maybe it's the lack of a handbag or the poker straight hair that doesn't do much.

This is a very sexy look. Amy Adams' red hair combined with this lace dress is so fierce.

I like the whole look in general but the scarf really gives an extra lift.

Lindsay Price in a blazer by Alexander Wang, shoes by Courtney Crawford for Furla and a Furla bag. I would like a similar pattern skirt, I have no idea where hers is from.

Everything I Can't Have

Hello!!! I seem to be apologising with every new post but I really can't help it. A mixture of being preoccupied with other things and feeling rather uninspired has resulted in less and less updates on the blog. I just want to say thank you again for those who keep coming back time and time again. I really appreciate YOU!

So what have i been up to, i hear you ask. Mostly job-hunting which is proving quite difficult in the midst of the credit-crunch plus the obstacle of not being a British citizen (boo!). I'm also about to finish up a short course in bag making at Central Saint Martins - it's been fun to get an insight into how much time the design and construction of a bag can take. I discovered that my talents lie in designing and NOT sewing and construction, lol! I might give you guys a little preview of my work if I'm not too embarrassed :-)

I got to go to Robin Thicke's show in London's Shepard's bush empire 2 weekends ago. He's one of my favourite artists and I'm so happy that he came over to the UK especially since he is not as well known over here (I'm pretty lucky with that - i got to see John Mayer this summer too which was the most amazing experience) .

So anyway, I was listening to one of my favourite jams by Robin - 'Everything I Can't Have' which is a Latin flavoured tune when i got the inspiration for this post.

These are a few items I've spotted while window shopping but wouldn't dare think of buying ......

Paul Smith has never really been on my fashion radar but this Chiffon bow blouse is enough to catch my attention. You'll be guaranteed to get noticed in this sexy red number and its just in time for the Xmas party season too.

I think I'm in love with an inanimate object! As we know, fringe detail and deep purples are all the rage this Autumn/Winter. It also comes in black which is also TDF. I have the perfect pretty dress that just needs a little edge and I know this Botkier Fringed Morgan Satchel bag is IT!

Alexander Wang is shaping up to be one of my favourite designers this year and its no surprise with this Herringbone Jacket from the collection. Classic herringbone with contrast collar and edgy exposed zipper pockets. What I love the most about this jacket are the three quarter length sleeves and the length of the jacket.

Lurrrrve these! Wrinkled cotton dress with pleats at the waist and ruched shoulders by Charlotte Ronson. Worn here by Joy Bryant (one of my celeb style faves), this ticks two boxes for me - effortless and on trend (plaid). Like the laid back accessorising too.

Patricia Field For Marks and Spencer

Patricia Field's line with Marks and Spencer was launched online today at midnight. Personally, it's not as great as I assumed it would be, but then again M&S is involved so what else is to be expected?! Of course there are one or two pieces that are worthy of some attention...

The Stud belt - Handy for adding edge to an outfit and for re-creating that much loved Sex and the city Carrie Bradshaw look - the belt made several appearances in the movie version. I predict this one is going to be a hot seller (I would get it for myself but I find myself quite broke in the mist of the credit crunch :-()

The Iconic Orchid Corsage Dress - This is a black version of the dress that Carrie wore in the movie. I adore the gorgeous flower corsage and the black version is definitely more wearable.

The Floral Puffball Dress - Ok i think it would look a lot nicer on a more normal looking human being...only God knows why they keep using these anorexic looking models. It's made from rose detail jacquard and combines the puffball and pencil skirt - Fabulous!!!

The shoe print scarf and shopper - Love, love and luurrve these! I'm not usually a fan of all things bright and colourful but they are so fun and quirky and feature Patricia Field's iconic shoe print.

My new favourite thing is buying accessories: long and quirky necklaces, cocktail rings and cute hair clips. I think really great pieces of jewelery can complete an outfit perfectly. The presence of too much jewelery has always been a no no for me but lately I find myself loving layered necklaces. I'm suddenly recycling old and forgotten pieces - piling a bunch of those with recent buys. I like the results!

I've been fighting the temptation to get a new bag since April but I finally gave in. My brand new Melia Bianco convertible bag is perfect! I was turned on to this designer by Tigerbites in onw of her posts on fabulous handbags.

I'd originally planned to get one of the bright colours but chickened out and got black. I can't seem to get out of that habit.

Hello! How's everyone doing? Off to a busy start this week but I won't let that stop me from blogging again... I've made a vow to be more frequent.

Anyway. I though it would be fun to start a new feature on my blog. REAL PEOPLE. REAL STYLE. lol! Not that celebs aren't real too. There are so many people out who are so stylish and creative without the help of a personal stylist...unless you count Vogue and Elle as stylists.

Something for the weekend: Celebs at Fashion Week Special

Since everyone is covering New York Fashion Week, I thought I'd feature what the celebs wore to the various shows and parties during the week.

Liking the geek chic - looks like Kanye West and John Legend share fashion tips. I like the see-through plaid shirt Diane Krueger is wearing.

Simply gorgeous! I love these bright, fun and girlie looks.

Eva Mendes and Halle Berry look stunning and sexy in plunging necklines and figure hugging outfits at the Calvin Klein party. Joy Bryant opts for a slightly laid back look in a simple dress with some embellishment.

Victoria Beckham debuts her fashion line and a new Audrey Hepburn inspired pixie cut.

Leighton Meester wore a Julie Haus bright pink chiffon dress at the designer's show. She later turned up at DVF in a ruffle dress. I really like the menswear-inspired look she wore to host the party for designer Kira Plastinina later in the week.

Aww...Robin Thicke and Paula Patton are just too cute, I love her purple dress. Hiedi Klum launches her Jean collection but what catches my eyes are those shoes!

Ooh I love Jessica's edgy outfit.

The T-shirt never looked so good

We all have days when we really can't be bothered to get all dressed up and there are some of us who have a phobia for being seen in public looking less than gorgeous and put-together.

Natalie Portman illustrates that a t-shirt and jeans does not have to equal compromising on looking hot.

Gone are the days when T-shirts were just plain boring. Here are a few that have caught my attention....

Go retro in this Psychedelic Dove Peace Tee, $12.80 from Forever 21. It's 100% cotton and features a dove with peace symbol graphic print.

For the Eco-friendly types out there, Ascension makes T-shirts from organic cotton which have been manufactured solely using renewable green energy generated from wind and solar power in fairly traded factories. Even the inks are environmentally friendly too! I love this Geo Tee, £19 - 10% of profits go to the life association charity, to provide clean water. housing and education for children in India. Guilt-free spending :-)

Pair this Layered Girl T-shirt from DKNY (£40) with blue flared jeans to create a 70s look.

House of Holland has a range of really unique and interesting graphic T-shirts. You'll have to pay big bucks for it ....this logo Tee comes in at a whopping £70.

This Elephant Tee (£60) by Lauren Moshi is definitely my favourite. I like the long length and loose fit and I'm smitten with the black and white elephant design. I'm thinking...skinny jeans tucked into black fringed boots. I wonder if they do sales discounts :-)

Show off your playful side in Paul by Paul Smith's Polka dot bow t-shirt, £76. ASOS has similar tees that are more budget friendly. This would look good tucked in to a plain skirt.

If basic tees are more your thing, check out Dorothy Perkins for a variety of colours and cuts. I love this Cherry crew neck t-shirt (£5).

Brandy - Right Here (Departed)

Autumn on the high street: Hot Buys

With the changes in weather comes the new fashion season. All the high-street retailers are launching their Autumn collections so I'm giving you a little preview of what's hot (well...what i think is hot-lol)

TOPSHOP
Topshop is in my opinion the most eclectic high street retailer in the UK. There is bound to be something in there for everyone - their flagship is more like a department store!

My favourite piece from their autumn range has got to be this 'frill wool belted coat' @£75. I just adore that rich purple (bang on trend) and the frills also makes this a solid purchase. I hate autumn/winter season, not just because of the cold, but because every great ensemble ends up being covered up with a coat - it totally sucks the fun out of dressing up. A coat like this will make winter a lot more bearable.

H&M

This retailer is one of my personal favourites and good value for money - unlike primark! With H&M you get cheap prices for clothes that don't have quality compromised. At primark (whose prices have been creeping up in case anyone hadn't noticed!) you buy a dress for £10, wash it three times and you're done. Add £3 more and go to H&M and you'll get at least a year's wear out of it.

These jeans are so cool and not bad at £29.99. I'm getting really sick of skinny jeans. They look nice and they make dressing-down so easy but they can be so uncomfortable and restricting. For those who aren't too keen on this 'boyfriend jean' trend, I just bought a pair of 70s inspired wide legged 'Bette' jeans from topshop. They are slightly high-waisted, fitted at the waist and have a tailored wide leg...much smarter looking. As always, the key to wearing wide legged bottoms is to wear fitted tops and jackets to contrast.

This skirt of from H&M's recycled wool collection and it's priced at £34.99. It's very contemporary and look great with waist belts, feminine blouses and bright tanks (I'm thinking purples and mustard colours). Something for the work wardrobe.

MISS SELFRIDGE
I hardly buy clothes from this store simply because I'm too long limbed for them. Seriously, they cater for a wide range of sizes but nothing is ever long enough.

That's why I love handbags. One size fits all. I really like this Chanel inspired, quilted black bag with chic gold straps - its screams chic city girl. I love it even more because it's 'inspired' not 'copied'. I'm really hoping it will still be in stock when I can afford it, it's £20 but I have other spending priorities right now that do not include buying clothes and accessories.

WALLIS

My new favourite trend....the two-in-one. I am so impressed with these two-in-one dresses from Wallis. They have a total of five 2-in-1 dresses in their Autumn collection. I makes getting up for work so much easier! No more re-adjusting.

This frill print option is £40 and is old-fashioned, skirt suit glamour with minimal effort. Very sexy too.
Prefer grey and checked? This is so elegant. Oooh, I can imagine power-lunching in this number...and in my dreams I would have a classic black croc Birkin on my arm too.

MARKS AND SPENCER
Good ol' M&S. They have been trying hard to break out of that granny image. I think they're range has vastly improved over the years.

I really like this stylish shift dress (£65). It's a modern classic and lace is everywhere for autumn. Keep the look elegant with a pair of simple heels.

I Love dresses but they can be so boxed into day or evening! If I'm forking out money for an item of clothing, i would like it to be versatile, I'm sure most women would agree. So i was browsing the topshop website for fun and came across this beauty.

Wearing too many black accessories with this dress would be simply boring. It's okay to clash colours as long as you do it right. I love this yellow clutch by Stuart Weitzman Ufo (1), it's so classically modern and also comes in an array of gorgeous colours. Dress your feet in these open-toe Louboutins(3) ...you can't go wrong. The cute purple rhinestone flower cocktail ring from http://www.fashionjunkee.com/ (2) is inspired by Samantha's in sex and the city...it makes a statement and completes this outfit.

DAY CASUAL

I've incorporated the fall season folk trend into this one. The topshop jacket (1) pushed up to the elbows paired with the coin bracelet from Urban Outfitters (3) give the dress a more relaxed look. The fringed shoes (4) also from topshop are bang on trend. Ahh...the Gucci hysteria dome bag...very vintage, very chic. Not my personal taste but i can't deny its awesomeness. Whitney port has been carrying this piece of arm candy around.

EDGY

Studs and glossy leggings...release your inner rock chick! The dress comes up above the knee so it would be perfect with these corset glossy leggings (1) from topshop. If you're a sandal or ankle boot gal then Gucci's got you covered. There's the studded ankle boot (2) with its classy mix of suede and leather and the marion sandals (3) are so Sarah Jessica Parker.

Solange Knowles blasts news anchor!

The Situation: Fox News Las Vegas interviewed Solange as part of her album promo but before her interview went live, Solange was asked if she would talk about the closing of Jay-Z’s Las Vegas Club 40/40. The answer was obviously no, so the anchor decided not to mention it on air. Solange wasn’t aware that this happened off-camera. She mouthed off at the anchor on live TV instead of waiting until after the show. A guy from the news team had to come on air to announce to Ms diva that they had not been live during that discussion. I can't believe how calm and upbeat the anchor was even after this.

I recently gave Solange's album a great review on my other blog but this girl is just ANNOYING! She was actually really rude and even her body language didnt show her to be very proffessional either. I felt bad for her considering she's been trying to come out from under Beyonce's shadow but pahlease! She seems to have a really bad attitude (i dont know if its a defense mechanism or something) and this high sense of entitlement. No matter how talented or hardworking she is, the public are still the ones who shell out money for the music. Beyonce would have never done that.

After jamming to this song for the past couple of weeks, i was excited to see the video for it. I can't help noticing in the dance shots and where she wears black...is she channeling Aaliyah?! It's probably not intentional but did anyone else notice or was it just me? I'm not comparing her takents to Aaliyah or anything...i mean Cassie doesn't have much vocal range at all and just gets by on catchy beats. I just think the stylist may have had Aaliyah on their minds when shooting this video.

The girl I'm referring to is your friend. You absolutely adore her but you're secretly jealous of her -- you are constantly conflicted because one minute, you hate her and the next you are biting some one's head off for insulting your friend! Yes guys...IT IS possible to have this range of emotions all at once, us females are a different kind of species.

I think every woman has had a friend they feel that way about. This girl is everything you are not but wish you could be. Her personal style is enviable and she could turn a fashion faux pas into a new trend...but if you tried it you would look like a freak! She is drop-dead gorgeous but incredibly witty and intelligent too. When she walks into a room, she oozes confidence and charm -everyone seems to gravitate towards her like she has this shining light around her.

She cuts her hair super short and we all jump on the band-wagon ( I certainly did!)

Hating her is extremely difficult because she just happens to be the nicest, sweetest, most decent person you know. Everyone is her best friend and she regularly keeps in touch with all 1000 and bazillion friends she has on facebook! All the guys love her because not only is she gorgeous, she can get all crazy about football and yell abuse at the screen when the game isn't going her way. Girls love her because she seems to genuinely care when they tell her their problems and she gives really great advice.

There's more than one reason why Blake Lively is the most popular gossip girl

Surely there must be a blemish somewhere? Wrong! At least non that you will ever catch a glimpse of. Her puppy pees all over her brand new designer outfit in public ala Blake Lively and you think to yourself "Yes, this is it. Not only does she have pee on her but she is going to lose her temper and show her ugly side". Instead, she laughs it off and says "Aww... you bad doggie". Huh? Bad Doggie! I woulda gone balistic and kicked that dog's butt!

The truth is that she is probably not as perfect as you think. She is human and has the same problems and insecurities as you...she just deals with it better than you do. So when you are done obsessing, trying to hate her or plot her downfall (some people do that!), maybe it would do you some good to emulate some of her characteristics. Try smiling a little more and folding your arms a little less -- you'll instantly become more approachable. When you walk into a room full of people just think "I'm fabulous" even if you don't believe it - it works! It's all about a positive attitude! Don't try to copy her style and go all 'single white/black female'! Do take some inspiration from her and find what makes you comfortable and use it to create and define your own style. under no circumstances must you assume that the guy who just smiled at you, was actually smiling at her.

Rachel Bilson. An Ikat fan.

IKAT CRAZY! I'm really ready to get something in IKAT (resist dyeing) print. I think it possibly has something to do with designers over using African print fabrics (Ankara etc) -- It used to be special since its native to me and others where i come from.

History of Ikat according to Wikipedia: " There are known links between ikat production in India and South-East Asia. Patola cloth, a double ikat from Gujarat, western India, used to be exported to Indonesia for the use of the royal families. The patterns in the Patola Ikats are strikingly similar to the double ikats produced in Bali, Indonesia. It probably developed in several different locations independently. Ikat was known to be produced in several pre-Columbian Central and South American cultures.

ASOS has a great range of Ikat dresses, skirts and tops at very affordable prices and I'm definitely getting one of these especially now that they have discounts, lol!

QUIRKY JEWELERY. Came across some really interesting pieces of jewelery online.

Coldwater Creek Alluring Baubles necklace $29.50 is simply enchanting. A combination of shell, wood and metal. Like it!

Juicy Couture Summer of Love necklace, $230. Okay it's a nice statement piece but i have no idea why it retails for 230 dollars! I'm not even sure if the chain is real gold...I'd buy something very similar at a more sensible price.

I think a necklace like this can really pull an outfit together.

EYES NEED SHADE. So after scratching my really cool five pound sunglasses rather badly, i think it's time for a new pair. I am NOT spending more than 10 pounds but I'm taking inspiration from some fabulous designer sunglasses. I love a challenge!

CELEBRITY DESIGNERS. So now Mischa Barton has a range of handbags and I have finally decided to give in and check out the collection. The collection is pretty much a reflection of her style (which i hate) and they are suppose to be vintage chic (some more granny-like!). It is just not my cup of tea but in the spirit of making people aware of what's out there, here are some pieces I think are okay.

This one is out of stock already on ASOS so people must like it. It's a nice bag and I like the metal logo that's been chosen for the brand.

I like the shape of the clutch but it's too antique looking (not the good antique). I don't mind the flap-over shoulder bag. It's a great casual bag, I'm think Jeans or a tea-dress.

NUDE SHOES. I love this Fendi dress Cameron Diaz is wearing but do you know what I love more? The nude shoes! The minute I find nude shoes in my gigantic shoe size, I'm going to buy them no questions asked.

I thought i would share my beauty regime with my lovely readers today. I'll start with skincare for this post. There are no miracles and EVERYONE gets acne at some point or another. I usually have clear skin but when that dreaded 'time of the month' hits, they always come out to play! Here are some of my tips and coping strategies:

ESTEE LAUDER ADVANCED NIGHT REPAIR

Ok this is a great product! It protects and repairs the skin from daily stresses of pollution and sun damage and is great for preventing severe scarring from acne if used as soon as they appear. I didn't actually buy this one, i shamelessly collected sample bottles from department stores, lol!

NIVEA VISAGE REFRESHING WASH GEL
I think this is gentle enough for sensitive skin and keeps the skin's natural moisture balance. According to the product description, the skin is purified and dirt is removed while the skin’s own lipids are respected and moisturisers help prevent skin dehydration.
I think it does a pretty good job.

I have to change cleansers when summer comes along or i find myself in a hot country. The heat gives me really oily skin so i use Neutrogena Deep clean for normal to oily skin. It really dries out the skin so i would not recommend it for sensitive skin.

NIVEA VISAGE REFRESHING TONER

I always use a toner after cleansing, it gets all the excess residue from make-up and cleansing products off your face. It is also a good idea to splash some water on your face if you use cleansers that don't require water or else the product stays on your face and that's not a good thing.

NIVEA VISAGE CLEANSING WIPES

Quick, easy and convenient but not the best as your only daily cleansing regime. It's great for being on the move and i usually have it in my handbag when i travel.

SIMPLE HYDRATING LIGHT MOISTURISER

I struggled for years to find a moisturiser that wouldn't irritate my skin and now i use SIMPLE. It's a brand that specialises in skincare for sensitive skin. FYI - Beauty experts suggest that you always moisturise no matter what skin type you have. So if you assume that you don't need to use a moisturiser because you have oily skin, please do! Not using moisturiser will prompt your skin to panic and start producing even more oil. There are lots of oil control moisturisers on the market, i suggest you try those out.

Just a few things from last week....

Love Zoe Kravitz's lacey summer dress. It's youthful and flirty.

Whats up with this new so-called 'pegged jean' trend?! I don't think they are flattering to anyone.

Just saw Keri Hilson's new promo pictures for her upcoming album and I had to comment on the eye make-up. I have tried and failed several times to create that eyeliner look. I'm beginning to think it can only be achieved by having someone else do it for you. Any tips?

Perfect lazy (but not sloppy!) outfit. It only takes a combination of flattering basics and one or two of-the-moment accessories. In Rihanna's case classic jeans, white vest and those oh-so cool over-sized Metallic sunglasses. The fringed scarf is also set to be hot next season.

Lil Mama in an age appropriate outfit for once! Don't really like this dress on her but at least she doesn't have a pacifier this time around!

Get Keira's look for 20 pounds @ Peacocks. Their imitation probably won't last more than 2 or 3 washes but you probably wont like it anymore in a year :-)

Just discovered this great artist called Priscilla Ahn. I'm not quite sure how long she has been on the scene for but I'm loving what i hear. Check out her video for her single, 'Dream'

I also can't seem to get 'Heaven sent' by Keyshia Cole out of my head.

Cooler than the Red Dress

Hello my fellow fashionistas! I apologise for my continuous lack of posts in the past few months caused by a combo of work and no Internet connection. I'm still hanging out in Lagos and I swear it's been raining since I got here (so much for a sunny getaway, lol!).

Now to the topic at hand...

Red is set to be the hottest colour for autumn/winter and was splashed across the catwalks at Valentino, Donna Karan and Marchesa. I'm really all about dresses this year, they are feminine and just so easy (Slip on.Slip off).

Jessica Simpson is already working this trend and very well too. She has chosen a dress that suits her figure and adds bold platforms and lots of interesting accessories.

The shift dress

This shift dress from Theory is so versatile, why not take it for a spin at the office and throw in a black blazer for good measure or cinched in at the waist with a white belt.

The Body-con dress

This Paneled bandeau body-con dress from ASOS screams "I'm confident, sexy and i want all eyes on me". I like the Sweetheart neckline with ruched busting, just make sure you have the right underwear to avoid the dreaded spillage!

The Polo dress

Ahh...So casual and relaxed. This 'Lacoste pique polo dress' is bang on trend with the T-shirt silhouette. I like me some effortless style, it's nice once in a while to just throw something on and head on out the door! Er...it doesn't mean lazy either. A little belt or piece of jewellery will suffice -- it's all about giving it some personality.

Hello you lovely people out there in cyberspace! So sorry for the lack of posts since...Forever! My connection has been down for a long time and i'm only able to do this quick post because i'm at the airport.

Taking my mind off my fear of flying and posted the pictures from the John Mayer concert I went to last weekend at Brixton. It was such a blast and the atmosphere was awesome! Everyone in the audience was having a good time...don't remember the last time i had such a good time. His playing was on top form as usual (I love that man! lol)

Yes! I finally found gladiator sandals for my big feet. Now i can join the masses in rocking this summer staple. I yelped rather loudly when they arrived out of the excitement of my purchase and of having the post guy turn up at my desk for the first time since i started at my office. Lol! Everyone else gets something in the mail.

Anyway, I open the box and as usual, the quality is not great but beggars can't be choosers. Every girl with big feet knows that unless you are willing to pay a minimum of £70 for shoes, then you must be willing to skip on quality.

I love the neckline on this dress, its playful but sexy. It's a multi-tasker too. Perfect for cocktail parties in the summer and a great look worn with tights and a blazer when autumn rolls in. It also comes in a bronze metallic colour.

These Kurt Gieger Elixir yellow stilletoes add the perfect pop of colour to this ensemble. It makes me really jealous of ladies with normal sized feet (i'm a UK 11). I think they make a change from the popular bright patent shoes.

I like the interesting simplicity of this Vivien Cheng 'ocean ray' clutch purse. It's bang on trend with its colour block design and won't detract too much attention from the dress and shoes.

And to give it some edge, this crystal deco bangle is inspired!! It mixes glossy enamel with sparkling clear crystals and comes in three colours. The white is called "St. Tropez". The black is called "Monaco," and "Soho" is in purple. Very clever names, right?

I don't think I have ever been inspired by anything this lady has ever worn but she really did good on this outfit.

The yellow pleated dress is in a shade of yellow that I adore and instead of boring black shoes or run-of-the mill espadrilles, she opts for these interesting but not over-the-top Azzedine Alaia Python Platform Sandals. I also think her choice of bangles ties the look together.

And my favourite thing of all...that Killa patchwork clutch bag! I have been meaning to invest in an oversize clutch but so far have not been inspired until now. The one Jessica has is Dolce & Gabbana but seeing as I'm still on a modest salary, i will be looking for my inspiration on the high street :-)

Inspiration behind my new hairstyle

I've finally decided to step out of my comfort zone completely. I've had the same long length and side swept fringe for too long now and I'm bored with it. So in two days I will have something resembling Rihanna's full fringed bob...slightly longer on the sides.

I am this close to bailing -- it could be da bomb or could be my worst hair faux pas!

Graduation Fashion

Yep! It's that time of the year. Graduation Season (yes wedding season too!). I've had emails about this very subject and since I found shopping for my graduation quite stressful, I've decided to lend a helping hand and provide some inspiration for you. Firstly, I would like to congratulate anyone graduating this summer, well done and I hope it's been worth all the years of hard work :-)

A few words of advice. Keep your luggage light, keep your valuables with a family member during the ceremony, do NOT wear killer high heels unless you know you can handle it and take some safety pins and hair grips with you (trust me! you or one of your friends will need one)

BOTTOMS

Most trousers this season have a more relaxed feel, high on the waist and loose fitting on the leg.

These high waisted wide legged neutral trousers from compteir des cotonniers would look really great with a sheer blouse tucked in.

I love this Ted Baker Hafsa Pants. The belt detail is nice but to switch it up replace with a red skinny belt or silk scarf to give it a more riviera-style spring look.

Not a fan of High waists? These are more of a modern classic by French Connection. It has a fitted shape and front pleats which make them really smart and professional.

Get the sexy 50s secretary look with this Paperbag skirt from ASOS and wear it to the office when you land your first job out of uni.

DRESSES

I've just had a look at the new collection from Debut, a brand at Debenhams, and I'm really impressed. They have hundreds of dresses for every taste and occasion.

I could see Charlotte in 'Sex and the City' wearing this dress. I saw this in a magazine and it was accessorised with a white flower corsage right in the centre of the bow which looked great too. I would wear it to a wedding also.

With the large bow detail and sweetheart neckline, this is more for the girlie girl i think. It also comes with detachable straps. Also from Debut@debenhams.

For something with a bit more edge, this art-inspired dress from NEXT is bang-on. The belt toughens it up too and after graduation, they would look fabulous with studded gladiator sandals. This dress has been saved in my favourites for a while but i haven't been to try it on yet because i would be too distraught if it doesn't suit me :-)

Ivanka Trump's dress is so adorable. It's day appropriate and could also be great for the office wardrobe. This is a most unique take on the 'bow detail' trend i've seen so far. LOVE IT!!

Halle Berry out shopping. I have a dress quite similar to this one but it's got straps. I like the accessories too (love the bollywood style earrings which i also coincidentally own a similar pair)

Christina Ricci in Bottega Veneta. Very elegant!

Carrie Underwood dazzles in a platinum glass fringe dress by one of my favourite designers Badgley Mischka. It's very well accessorised also.

Fashion Trend Alert Spring/Summer 2008: #4 The 70s

This is more or less a mix of other trends from this season. It features the high-waisted, wide leg trousers, floral maxi dresses and retro denim. Designers like Stella McCartney, D&G and Chanel all borrowed elements from the 70s for their spring 2008 runway collections. Here are a few ideas:

The floral Blouse. I like this ASOS top because it's a great way of wearing floral - not the floral wearing you! It's cute, girly and would work well with a pair of denim shorts. Another option from next and has that all important bow-detail from this season

This Marc by Marc Jacobs shirt dress would go really well with a pair of gladiator sandals.

Hmm...I've seen some celebs trying to rock these, Chloe Sevigny and Ali Hilfiger to be more precise. Not sure if I am brave enough yet to step out of my boring and practical sunglasses but I really do appreciate the awesomeness of these. The work of Marc Jacobs again.

Love these high-waisted shorts from warehouse. I have one very similar but I hardly get to wear it in these climes since there was no summer last year and looks a little uncertain if there might be one now.This 'Johnny loves Rosie' bracelet is from my last post and is so appropriate for this one too. Again, would be great with neutral wide leg pants or retro light wash denim.

Tucked in shirt or tank top and a killa pair of platforms and you're ready to go in these 18th amendment Colbert ‘Speak easy’ high waisted flared jeans.

I saved my favourite till the end. I don't know why i like it so much! This dress is from Kookai and i think it costs like £100 something so i shall be staying well away and just admire it from a distance, lol!

So there you have it. Can you hear the 'Charlie's Angel' theme tune in your head yet?

New Accessories For Spring/Summer: #5 Statement Bangles

Marni Spring 2008 runway

This season, bangles are interesting, BIG! BIG! BIG! and piled high. Here are a few inspired pieces. This is just too cute. Floral Jewellery by Johnny Loves Rosie. I think this would go with neutral wide-legged pants or with the 70s inspired denim that's so this season. £35

The 'Bosco-Marengo Bangle'! Even the name is killa! I really like the intricate detail on this bangle... the leaf detail and engraving are so beautiful and it is £12 from Aldo. I could have sworn it was some expensive vintage.

Spruce up a simple dress with this cuff, i think it looks a little vintage too. Isharya is apparently the new cult jewellery brand in the US, I don't know about that but most of the pieces I've seen are soooo divine.

Check out another piece from the Isharya collection. The price tag (£195) is a big pain in my neck but if you can afford it and like something more unique, why not!! Would look great with a pair of grecian/gladiator style sandals.

This raffia bangle from H&M takes inspiration from this season's Global/ethnic trend. Perfect for the summer!

Last but by no means least are Lanvin's 'Geometric Resin' Bangles. These are great for everyday wear and you can also channel the Safari trend with these. £120

So there you have it. Some of these are out of the mass population's price range but its all about taking inspiration and finding your something that's more suited to your budget. The high street is great for churning out the trends.

The Statement Dress

I did a double take while doing rounds online when I came across this Tulip-shaped cocktail dress by Lousie Amstrup, whom I'd never heard of before today. It's Killa! Its so beautifully constructed and I'm pretty sure the shape would be flattering to almost anyone. I imagine myself walking in to a crowded swanky bar and totally getting that WOW effect :-) (i imagine such moments aaaalot!)

Back to the subject. The best way to accessorise a statement piece is just to keep it simple and let the dress command all the attention.

Christian Louboutin pumps are instant glamour. The red soles are a stroke of genius, i hear he got his inspiration from an employee wearing red nail polish! Patent is still hot but I think the chiffon detail on the ambrosina pump is a great alternative and maintains that signature sexy look. It screams Dita Von Teese.

This box clutch by Anya Hindmarch is perfect. It's simple, sleek, shiny box shape is a homage to the 50s.

Have this ring and the colour is more metallic bronze, it looks silver in this picture. Accessorize £8.

Style For Young Moms

In an attempt to cater to all readers of my blog, I am focusing on young mamas today. It can be pretty tricky staying stylish when you have more important responsibilities like taking care of kids to deal with and let's face it, they can be a handful! I dont have kids but hopefully, I should be able to help with the basics. These retro wide leg jeans really capture the 70s and would be really comfortable too. Layering is essential so pair vests, tees and cardigans with jeans and the key to non-boring is smart accessorizing.

As easy as it is to just live in jeans, dresses can also offer the same comfort. The maxi-dress never seems to go out of season. It's a great style for sunny days and evening barbeques with a cute cardigan thrown on if it gets a little chilly.

I love the first two because of the straps. Usually I cant wear maxi-dresses because they generally have thin straps and just don't work for busty ladies. These two have straps thick enough to have supportive undergarments on. I want and need that Color block jersey dress by Diane Von Furstensburg (can't nearly afford it!) and i love the ruching at the empire waist. The next dress is from ASOS and the monochrome graphic print is Divine. The third is very pretty and sophisticated - another DVT dress (we like her!).

I picked these two for when mommy and daddy need a date night, assuming your kids are considerate enough to let you have some time to yourselves :-). The dress on the left is the old faithful LBD. Its Osman Yousefzada for mango and the metallic gold racerback is a different take on the classic LBD, its hot! Vera Wang is one of my favourite designers and she never disappoints. The shape, colour and length of the next dress creates timeless elegance but the ruffle trim and faceted-stone appliqué at the bust keeps it interesting.

Comfortable shoes are a must-have if you're doing the school run... in fact just keeping up with your super-energetic kid(s).

These classic ballerina pumps are a wardrobe staple and are a great everyday shoe which go with almost anything. Topshop £25

These Mary-Janes are perfect for adding a splash of colour to a monochrome outfit, I could just eat them! They are by Gap at £32.

The gladiator sandal is great for the summer and handy when going for a casual look, I would pair it with a maxi dress or denim shorts. £30 from Oasis

aww....I love these super cute Rupert Sanderson pumps. The oversized satin bows give it a playful air and the burnished gold metallic leather is ultra stylish.

Super- hero Ladies

I got really excited when i saw these snaps from USA Weekend because Liv Tyler and Maggie Gyllenhaal are two of my favourite young hollywood actresses. All three actresses appear in big summer movies based on classic comic books, with Paltrow as "Iron Man's" trusted assistant Pepper Potts, Gyllenhaal as Bruce Wayne's lawyer pal Rachel Dawes in the Batman sequel "The Dark Knight," and Tyler as "The Incredible Hulk" heroine Betty Ross
The movie I have been most anticipating is the batman sequel, 'The Dark Knight'. I was so impressed with the first movie and i think the script is very unlike most comic book movies and it deals with much darker issues. The movie also sells itself well in the casting of Christian Bale as its leading man (He's my favourite actor ever except for Paul Newman of course). I must say however i am half scare to see it now after the death of Heath Ledger, his role being so creepy and twisted. I have a feeling his portrayal of 'The Joker' may steal the show.

As for 'The Incredible hulk', the first movie and the sequel both have amazing and talented young actors but it just doesnt seem to be a winning formula. The trailers for the sequel dont seem that appealing and if they cant even make an exciting trailer, it makes me ask if the movie will be any good. My night with the Lion King

Hello!! Hope y'all are having a good start to the week. I'm trying to keep in good spirits (its almost impossible) as Sunday was such a great day for me because i finally got tickets to see 'The Lion King' (the award winning stage musical) in London! As some of you already know, i am a big fan of musicals, put an all singing, all dancing performance in front of me and I'm happy.

The show was amazzzzzzzzzzzzing as expected. I thought it would be impossible to create the same setting as the original Disney animation. I assumed they would just get actors to wear big furry animal costumes and prance around. Nope! The creation of this theatrical world is done through a combination of puppets, masks and amazing costumes and don't even let me get started on the set. The music was incredible (very heavy on the african influence) ...i think the cast have some kind of super human abilities, they sing in tune while doing somersaults, high kicks and super - energectic dances! You know you're about to see a really great show when a 13foot long, 11foot high, 9 foot wide elephant comes through the theatre aisle to get to the stage for the 'circle of life' sequence.

If this is showing in a city near you, you really have to go and see this.

I have a huge headache. This particular headache doesn't have anything to do with watching too much TV (which i most definitely have this weekend) or bad sinuses. NO. This headache has been caused by a newly acquired pesticide, a nuisance, a BUG-A-BOO!!! Ugh!! I am so mad right now. This stuff always happens to me.

SCENARIO. I meet this guy randomly somewhere and he starts talking to me. Not one to be rude and seeing that he's a fellow African, i oblige in a little polite conversation but bearing in mind that it wont end the way i want it to. So conversation ends and the guy is like "lemmi get your number" I'm thinking "damn! Not again". I politely decline and after much begging and uncoolness from his part, i offer a compromise, give me your number and i MIGHT call. Great all done, crisis averted...or so i think.

You see, I live in a town near London but unfortunately not as big. You tend to always bump into the same people when there is only one main bus station, one main shopping centre, one main everything! I don't know what i did to deserve this kind of punishment but i keep seeing this dude everywhere. I consider myself a nice person which is why i kept stopping to say hello and surely this is what every civil human being does, right?

You would think that this person would get the message that I'm not really interested in anything but just a 'hello' in passing. I never called and yet he keeps bugging me whenever he sees me. "oh you don't call me, can i have your number now, when are we going to go out?"...Er mate, doesn't that tell you something.

Anyway sha, I went furniture shopping one day and guess who works there? So having never gone furniture shopping by myself, I'm totally clueless and the entire experience is something i never want to go through anytime soon. The dude is very helpful and also goes through the trouble of carrying the stuff to the cab for me but not before asking for my number again. There is simply no way i can refuse again after all this trouble so i give him my number. BTW, i couldn't give the wrong number because as i have now learnt, these kind of guys always call you immediately to see if the number is right (I guess they always get given bogus numbers)

Now, you know how that Destiny's Child song BUG-A-BOO goes. He calls the next day and its Sunday (a day not to be mean) so i pick up the phone and talk to the guy for a while and he starts saying "so when are we going to see each other then?" I'm like well i work all week and dont really get that much time at the weekends and I'm quite happy with just bumping into you and saying a quick hello. Surely this translates as i don't really wanna know you or want to be friends with you but to this guy, it means I'm going to call you every single minute of the day. The guy has been blowing up my phone constantly and no matter how many times i don't pick up, it doesn't matter.

This weekend was the final straw! I was having a very bad day yesterday so i decided to pick up his call this time and get rid of him for the last time. When he asked his trademark "when are we going to see?" , i got angry and was really rude. The conversation quickly ended and i thought "Yes finally, i got rid of him". Soon after, as always i started to feel really bad and guilty for being rude but still glad that now my phone could rest now.

Damn! Did i get a rude awakening today. In total, he has left 9 missed calls on my phone!! Please Lord!

Can someone help me! Tell me what to do.

I'm all for primark and budget fashion but this is stealing big time! I always think their products look like a child made them which if you think about it, is most probably the case. They can twist this anyway they want but it is pretty much the same bag with just poor quality hand work and materials. Apparently you only need to change five details on any item to pass the copyright test (seems like they did just that, lol!). Poor Mr Jacobs, at least their version looks crap and i promise not to go anywhere near it :-)

This weekend, i'm kicking off with the 'Urban Safari' trend. Think 70s inspired tailoring with slim lines, belted jackets and pocket detailing. Think Robert Redford and Meryl Streep in 'Out of Africa'. This look is very heavy on stark white, Khaki and bark browns which could get a little boring after a while. I think prints can make a huge difference with this trend so i would probably combine florals or tribal prints to contrast the neutrals.

Right. I know its pretty much spring already, so technically i should have finished this list by now but other stuff kinda got in the way. I'll try and make this feature a lot more regular than its been. So let's get on with this.

The lightweight scarf is definitely one of my favourites for this season and its everywhere. There is one to suit anyone's taste and they are sufficient enough to keep you warm during the spring months and light enough to wear in hotter climates (i will definitely be taking it with me to Nigeria and i just got a friend one as well cos i just can't keep this trend all to myself, lol!).

I think it just gives that extra little bit of detail or added pop to an outfit especially when going casual and it's a great investment for a lady's wardrobe. Floral, ethnic or safari... I love them all!

Madonna and Justin's “4 Minutes (To Save The World)” Music Video has finally been released. Not completely sold on the song yet (like the hook and the bits where they sing madonna) but I think its one of those that will really grow on me, like Mariah's. Like the video and the little bit of dancing included in it (I can't do any of those moves and she's twice my age!). Not totally sure if i'm quite grasping the concept though, lol!

The Hills is back! Hooray! I'm bouncing off the walls. I've just watched the new season premiere and it was great! Drama, drama as usual. Spencer is still a prat (although i felt a lil bad for him in the episode), Brody has been confirmed as an A-class jerk - we could all see that coming.

Lauren and Whitney had a great time in Paris, although some of it seemed a bit too chick flick but i don't care. And OMG that french guy, Matthias, I bet we all knew exactly what he was thinking about Lauren in the club scene (wink wink)
