Party Season - Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

I've been ever so good this year. Please climb down the chimney and bring me a nice pressie as my reward.

Thanks x x

P.S. I really really want Sass and Bide Black Rats leggings :-)

Originally created as a styling feature for the sass and bide spring 09 show, the hype that followed finally pushed them into production. Every celebrity and her sister has one of these ruched beauties. Asos got some in stock this week and they are selling for £97 (for leggings!) so if you've got the cash, i suggest you head over to the site before they sell out.

Great with: Tunics, oversized t-shirts, boyfriend cut blazers and razor sharp heels.

Party Season - Rejuvenate with a Brooch

With the arrival of the party season, most of us are already worrying about what to wear. There will be a lot of people who simply can't afford to fork out for new clothes and accessories for every invite we get.

My advice - Invest in a brooch. It's just the thing to spruce up clothes long designated to the back of your wardrobe. Here are a few ideas I've come up with.....

A casual oversized drapey tunic like this could easily work as a mini dress or top w/skinny jeans by gathering the excess fabric to the centre of your waist or the side of your hip and securing it in place with a brooch.

Got a dress you're bored of wearing? Why not clip on a sparkly brooch in the style of this lovely dress from milly.

You could also try layering a bunch of pearl necklaces and clipping a flower corsage to them ala this one from topshop.

My favourite way to re-invent a plain old clutch is with an antique looking brooch. Why spend tones on a new clutch when you could get a £5 clutch from primark and pin your mum's vintage brooch to it! Although, it would be nice to own a lovely Wilbur and Gussie satin clutch - they are the best!

Other ideas - Scarves, headbands, belts, hats...can't think of more :-)

A juicy selection of brooches.....

Debenhams 'John Richard' Sunflower and Faux Pearl Brooch...my favourite because i own it :-)

Topshop vintage brooch ring...it's a ring but could double up as a pendant on a long chain.

I hope this has given you, the readers, some inspiration and ideas for your outfits this season. Take care and have a great weekend.
